Fractional COOs

Fractional COOs

A fractional COO turns what the founder wants into a company that delivers it: cadence, accountability, hiring plans, and handoffs that stop breaking. Founders hire one when every decision still lands on their desk and the team has passed the size where that works. This page lists every fractional COO we have found. Each row shows name, practice site, geo, last verified date, and one line on who they serve. Rows here describe agencies and service businesses by revenue band and headcount. One reads "operator seat, not a coach." That is the distinction to look for.

Before you reach out

  1. On the practice site, check whether they sit in the seat or advise from outside it. "Embedded" and "operator seat" mean inside. "Coach" and "advisor" mean outside. Both are real jobs; only one is a COO.
  2. Read who they serve for size. Rows here quote bands like "$1–10M" and small headcounts. A COO built for 150 people will over-engineer a company of 12.
  3. Last verified is the date we last opened the practice URL and confirmed the seat. Availability, references, and results are yours to check.

Questions founders ask before hiring this seat

What does a fractional COO do for an agency?

They run the operating rhythm: the weekly leadership meeting, the scorecard, the delivery process, the hiring plan, and the client handoffs that keep leaking margin. The founder goes back to selling and vision. Agencies feel the need for this seat at the point where utilization, capacity, and cash stop fitting in one spreadsheet the founder keeps in their head.

Fractional COO vs EOS Integrator: same job?

Close cousins. Both run the company day to day so the founder does not have to. An Integrator does it inside EOS, with the Visionary, Level 10, Scorecard, and Rocks vocabulary. A COO does it in whatever system you run. One operator, Kyle Spinks, is listed on both pages because his practice sells both paths. If you run EOS, start with the Integrators.

How is this list sourced?

Every row starts at the operator's own public practice site. We read it and record six facts: name, seat, practice URL, geo, the date we checked, and one plain line on who they serve. We opened all 33 practice URLs on Aug 31 or Sep 1, 2026. Nobody paid to be here and nobody can pay to move. If a fact is wrong, the takedown page fixes it.

Why are all 33 listings unclaimed?

Because the list came before the invitation. All 195 listings on this site are unclaimed as of Sep 1, 2026. Unclaimed means the operator has not yet taken control of the record, so it stays frozen to six sourced facts. When they claim, the stamp fills and shows the month. It does not move the row. Unclaimed is a date, not a grade.
